The verbs and adjectives in the VERBS AND ADJECTIVES FLASH CARDS kit have been chosen from a number of Japanese textbooks commonly used in Australia and New Zealand.

There are flash cards of 100 verbs in both MASU-form and dictionary (plain) form, and 84 adjectives.

The word on each card is presented in hiragana in large print, and the letters used are Textbook font. Details of each word are given on the back, as shown in the EXPLANATORY NOTES. Teachers may photocopy all or part of the back of each card according to the needs of their students.

The cards have been put into 3 sets and each card has been numbered. Set 1 comprises verbs in the MASU-form, Set 2 verbs in the dictionary (plain) form and Set 3 adjectives. There are corresponding numbered lists for each set for teachers’ quick reference.

Some ways of using these cards are suggested in IDEAS FOR USING FLASH CARDS. However, teachers will no doubt come up with other interesting ideas to suit their classroom needs.

The Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre hopes that teachers find these materials a useful addition to their collection of teaching resources. Any comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome.

PERMISSION TO COPY
The material in this kit is copyright. However, The Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre grants permission for copies to be made by teachers without commercial gain in quantities sufficient for use by bona-fide students.

This project was initiated and coordinated by Mrs. Eiko Nakamura and Ms. Michie Akanane.
