This is a set of flashcards to complement ‘ことばカード‘ , and contains an additional 44 picture cards with the words in kana script on the back. The resource is mainly aimed at primary school students of Japanese, but it would also be suitable for junior secondary students.

In line with our aim to support the teaching of Japanese at primary level in Australia, the Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre invited a number of experienced primary Japanese language teachers to advise us on their most pressing needs. This resource is part of the primary materials development program based on their recommendations.

Some suggestions for using these cars are given on the next page, but the Japan Foundation Sydney Language Centre would like to thank the primary teachers’ group for their assistance in choosing the words for this resource.
